In fall 2023, Corporations Canada (CC) will further integrate the Nuans name search report with its Online Filing Centre (OFC), in an ongoing effort to improve client service. Going forward, clients incorporated under the Canada Business Corporations Act (CBCA) and the Canada Not-For-Profit Corporations Act (NFP Act) who need to obtain a name search report for services that require a name approval (listed below) will purchase it through the OFC.
Clients who bought a Nuans name search report within a 90-day period before the system update can use it only until the update takes effect. After the update, clients will have to use the new process with the integrated name search for the services listed below. Name search reports purchased before the update will not be accepted. Clients may contact Corporations Canada for additional support.
The Nuans name search application will be integrated with the following transactions that require a name approval and/or will allow the use of a corporate name preapproval:
- Corporations incorporated under the CBCA or NFP Act:
- Incorporation
- Corporate name preapproval
- Corporations incorporated under the CBCA:
- Amendment
- Import continuance
- Amalgamation
