SEA Public Statements are prepared for Departmental initiatives, following the development of a detailed SEA.
Detailed SEAs are done when it is assessed that the Departmental initiative may have important environmental effects (either positive or negative) or are of concern to the public. Our objective is to demonstrate that the Department has taken into account important environmental considerations in the development of initiatives approved by the Minister and/or Cabinet.
In accordance with the Cabinet Directive on the Environmental Assessment of Policy, Plan and Program Proposals, a detailed strategic environmental assessment (SEA) was completed and public statements were issued for the following initiatives:
